PR Strategy and Counsel
The Interop PR team is available to assist you with any questions or issues you may have regarding your PR outreach strategy before or during the event, including tips on contacting press and analysts, as well as PR advice based on industry events and topics at Interop that will be of interest to your company. Inclusion in Interop 'Preview' Press Release
Interop offers an amazing audience to target for your company's new product or service announcement, and no other IT infrastructure event brings the same impressive and accessible blend of press, analysts, exhibitors and attendees together. Interop attendees are influential IT professionals who come to see the spectrum of technologies, products and solutions in one place so they can make more informed purchasing decisions.

If your company is planning on making an announcement at Interop Las Vegas 2009 , we can help you increase the exposure through an April 21 press release detailing exhibitor announcements at the event. To be included in this opportunity, exhibitors can fill out the New Product Description form in the Interop Las Vegas Exhibitor Resource Center (PR agencies – you'll need login information from your client). The deadline for inclusion is April 7, 2008. If you would like to participate in this opportunity but not release specific details of your announcement, we can also accommodate you.

Editorial Opportunity - Executive Interviews
Are you lauching a product or servie at Interop Las Vegas? If so, we’d like to interview one of your company’s executives to be podcast and posted to the Interop web site. A limited number of companies will be selected from submissions received for this opportunity based on uniqueness of the product/service and availability of the company’s executive. To be considered, send information on your executive and product launch to Natalia Wodecki at by April 4th. Embargo dates will be honored.

Meeting Rooms for Press Briefings
Beginning February 25th, press meeting rooms can be reserved in one-hour increments for exhibitors who have made reservations with press/analysts during the event – to reserve a meeting room, send the following information to : company name, name and contact information of person requesting meeting, meeting time and length, and press/analyst attending the meeting. The meeting rooms are located inside the Media Center. Last day to pre-reserve a room is April 24th. After this date room reservations can be made on a first-come-first serve basis at the event.

The Media Center is located in Ballroom F on the second level of Mandalay Bay Convention Center South.

Access to the Interop Las Vegas 2009 Press/Analyst List
The Interop Las Vegas press/analyst list is available for exhibitors beginning March 24, 2008, and can be downloaded at the Interop Las Vegas Exhibitor Resource Center (PR agencies – you'll need login information from your client). This database will be updated and made available on a weekly basis until the event, with the final press and analyst attendee list uploaded the week after the conclusion of Interop Las Vegas. This information will give you the opportunity to set up on-site interviews and meetings prior to the event.

Guide to Engaging the Media
Develop an effective media relations strategy for the event using the Guide to Engaging the Media section of this guide, which provides recommendations for organizing media relations efforts at Interop Las Vegas.

Press Release Guidelines
Interop owns its brands and content and must approve any third party use of its brands and content. If you plan to write a press release about your exhibitor announcement, sponsorship, or other activities around the event, please follow the below guidelines:

  • Event boilerplate should be included in the press release (see boilerplate below)
  • The date and location of the event should be included in the first paragraph: Interop 2008 is happening April 27-May 2 at the Mandalay Convention Center
  • If you would like to include a quote from Interop GM, Lenny Heymann, send your release and suggested quote for review and approval to Joylyn Tanner . Please allow 24-48 hours turnaround time.
